Exam
Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
How college life is treating me so far, you ask? I don't know how to answer that question for it's quite subjective you see. There are two sides of a coin but my life has more than that.
Getting 11 points for the final exam for the 1st semester is quite surprising (but alhamdulillah in a good way) because I thought it would be easy peasy to get full points. Ha. Ha. You wish! Ironically for TESL & Linguistic students of KMS, it would be quite impossible to get an A for English even though that's the core subject that we'll be pursuing in the university soon. My English teacher even said that people prefer Mathematics than language because of the complexity of this field. *sigh*
When I was in high school, I thought English was the easiest thing to do (no, bukan berniat untuk riak) if compared to other subjects. English has always been fun, the teachers are always bizarrely good and that makes me love English more. Biology needs me to read and read and read, Chemistry has to be really understood wholeheartedly, I've once told myself that I hate Physics and Add Maths, huh the luck wasn't on my side.
College life is 180 degree different. Pure Mathematics (the more advanced level of Add Maths) is surprisingly easier to score than English even though I sucked at it during the upper form. It's like we're taking Maths instead of English if you look at our results.
But still, I didn't get A for my Maths.
We need to be really mature in order to write spectacular essays. Be it narrative/descriptive/imaginative or argumentative/discursive writing, both are difficult to write. Even the native speakers face a hard time to get A, truth be told.
Nevertheless, sociology is a blessing for us because Miss Muna is kind enough to provide the questions which we have repeatedly done before the real exam. The only thing that bothers us is what will become of us when AS & A2 exams arrive because it's for sure that we have to memorise the whole thick green book to write excellent essays that the time is very much limited to 1/2 hour(s) only.
Ya Allah, help us.
To strive is our priority now. To keep on reading and opening our mind to the world is what we must do.
Afterall, this world is created to make us weep, to make us feel exhausted. If it's always a smooth sailing, where's the thrill to it, aye?
Allah knows best. Failure might be your best jodoh for now.
