The Journey: 4 - Almost The End

Image
Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Today is already Sunday. We'll be having our final A2 paper tomorrow ( English Language Paper 4 ) and soon to leave this lovely place, our beloved KMS family, the cats & forever beautiful sky of Seremban. How surreal. How fast the time flies that we have finally come to the end of two years holding the title of a KMS-ian.  I cannot express how grateful I am for being able to live here. To learn the meaning of life with so many memories etched in my heart. So many names filling in the blank spaces within me that I don't want to erase by any means. Alhamdulillah that He causes this to happen.  I remember the du'a that I made before receiving the offer from MARA to pursue pre-uni education here. I asked from Allah that 'if coming here would do me good, please make it easy for me'. Allah never disappoints His servants, true? Yes, my du'a has been answered and I'm totally sure of His decision of putting me here amo...

The Journey: 3 - Sociology

Image
Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. I am in the middle of exam month and I just need some space to fill this blank white box with dancing alphabets. So yeah, let's talk about Sociology. First and foremost, I'd like to express my utter gratitude upon the chance that Allah gives for me to spend my two years studying here - bumi berkat KMS. This place has taught me 1001 (and more) lessons of life that I shall not forget and maybe I can say that being inspired by the people and the lessons learnt that I am able to mentally produce a life-survival kit? Learning Sociology as one of the subjects to pass our A-Levels here is one blessing that I am thankful for. Initially, I couldn't understand any of the arguments being forwarded by the sociologists, what more with the ever-so-sophisticated English words in the textbooks. It was just difficult to totally grasp what we were learning during the first semester. However, from time to time, I began to gain more understanding of ...

The Journey: 1 - To Strive?

Image
A rare scenery in my KMS room Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. The caption of the photo says it all. I rarely stay up now. It's rather sad to think of the inability to stay fresh at midnight with the table lamp (half-)lighting the bed. But once Allah allows these eyes to stay open at 2 or 3am just to finish off the works that are always piling up, I feel so grateful that the body is given extraordinary strength to stay energised. Of course, with the help of caffeine, I managed to force myself to stay awake and continue doing the work. I admit that this habit is not that healthy to be practised, but what's wrong with some booster ey? People might comment on the 'on-the-go' nature of Amalina J but they haven't seen the lousy side of me yet - to which I choose to keep to myself for I don't want to reveal anything that's bad and not worth a story. There will be times when I choose to be a plankton and get affected with all the negative happenings that may ...

Worries

Image
Bismillah. When it comes to the tasks that we ought to carry out ourselves, we tend to forget the Divine Power that may and may not let the outcome to happen - as expected, no? We rely too much on our so-called efforts that we neglect His say in our life. Okay, maybe the pronoun that I used is rather incorrect. Replace the word 'we' with I then. Hence, I admit that I do this sometimes (or is it most of the time? Gulps). It is as if I simply forget the way to really put my heart into the prayers that I make. What Allah says in the Quran is true then that humans will normally become forgetful of the vows that we create once the prayers are answered. Ungrateful, we are. Therefore, the ayahs in the picture are merely to remind myself that I must not forget. I must not forget to pray wholeheartedly. Beg if I must. Yes, begging is more like it. La yukalli fullahu nafsan illa wus'aha . You must remember Amal, remember that when you feel troubled, He's there - will alw...

Exam

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. How college life is treating me so far, you ask? I don't know how to answer that question for it's quite subjective you see. There are two sides of a coin but my life has more than that. Getting 11 points for the final exam for the 1st semester is quite surprising (but alhamdulillah in a good way) because I thought it would be easy peasy to get full points. Ha. Ha. You wish! Ironically for TESL & Linguistic students of KMS, it would be quite impossible to get an A for English even though that's the core subject that we'll be pursuing in the university soon. My English teacher even said that people prefer Mathematics than language because of the complexity of this field. *sigh* When I was in high school, I thought English was the easiest thing to do (no, bukan berniat untuk riak) if compared to other subjects. English has always been fun, the teachers are always bizarrely good and that makes me love English more. Biology needs me to re...

Summary

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. All praises to Allah that I am home again. After spending 3 weeks at the college right after Eid break, accompanied by the Sun and the rain (FYI the excessive exposure under the hot weather caused my skin to turn darker T^T), yes, I am finally home again, alhamdulillah. Despite the fact that I actually came home last weekend via train and most importantly BY MYSELF (tapi dari Seremban sampai BTS, Ipah ada je dalam komuter dengan saya ihik), that doesn't count because it was only for 3 days. And the experience travelling from Seremban to KL by using public transports was indeed thrilling. But I daresay that it is not recommended for a lady to travel by herself without being accompanied by anybody because safety comes first. The decision to go home via public transports last week was made due to the unbearable desire to surprise my family at home and the fact that homework was not that many amplified the desire even more. Thank God that He eased my jo...

Priceless

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. All praises to Him that it's already a month (approximately) that KMS has become a part of me. Though this may sound cliche, indeed time flies so fast that I'm now a college student who's only a step away in getting what she has craved for since forever (haha forever lah sangat, waktu Form 3 je baru dapat ilham Allah bagi nak pergi oversea ni ha). I know that I've wronged gazillion times before and am quite certain that mistakes + sins will be made every day as long as I'm breathing. We are made of imperfections. But He has always believed that us, the imperfect human beings are the most perfect creature who will bring goodness to the world (in performing our duty as His khalifah), who will  be in His heaven (and an-Nar as well), there in the afterlife. Through the true stories that were told to me via the countless talks/sharing sessions here in KMS or maybe through the TV programmes etc, I come to the realisation that Allah is indee...

'Love Letter'

Bismillah. (This is dedicated to my dear Nurul Izzah Ariff Ariffin who is currently in Segamat, Johor, studying Computer Science.) I am sitting here, alone at a place called 'Hexagon' in KMS. I know that it has been weeks since I left my home sweet home, Kuala Lumpur, to be here in Seremban & it seems like months that I don't write anything here. Life has been quite eventful, truth to be told. Let me start my rambling and just bear with me please? It was the 3rd of July that I came here with my parents and brothers (minus along yang kat Jengka tu) and I was so scared & I actually cried silently in the car as I was feeling anxious of being left in an unknown place to me. It was not good at all, that feeling. I have told myself countless times before 3rd July arrived, "You can do it, Amal! You will not cry in front of them." I actually managed to maintain my composure before them, but inside, only Allah knew what was I battling against; my own fear...

A Few Steps Away

Image
The intention of writing in this blog has always been here since I didn't practise my writing a lot nowadays. Alas, the procrastination often barged in and said to me that I could do a lot of other things instead of spending my time here. But well, now, here I am, writing again due to the stories that I must tell. Alhamdulillah, I'm finally offered to pursue my A-Level in Kolej MARA Seremban (after days of waiting impatiently). I am only a few more steps away of getting what I really want, insyaAllah! Today is 28th June and I am supposed to register next Wednesday. I haven't bought most of the things that I'm going to need for college yet and this TERRIFIES me very greatly. I too haven't gone to the hospital for the medical check-up (due to the fact that the official offer letter is not out yet) plus the big  brown luggage that we bought from SOGO is not yet filled with the clothes and God knows what else. Shortly, I am still not prepared for the big d...
